The Mail Bug service is an email machine for the senior without the hassle of a whole computer.  It looks easy to use, and at $125 (and $10 a month service fee) it's not a bad deal.  Of course, this is a gift for a slightly more tech-savvy senior, and the emails would be text only- so no cute images from those forwards we all get.  If your senior friend is curious about email but is wary of owning a PC, this might be the perfect gift for them to communicate with the world at large.  Maybe you can convince him or her to become active in politics/activism, support, or just to keep in touch with more family and friends.  Senior email machines are excellent gifts for nursing home residents.
